The only sound reason to speak in support of a religious doctrine that is to be advocated, accepted or practiced is because that doctrine is the truth – truth as far as God is concerned. If there is truth in religion, then in addition to sincerity, there must be the desire to obey the truth, a desire strong enough to compel belief and practice to change wherever one’s belief is found to be contrary to the Word of God, the Bible.
•A great first truth is GOD – GOD does exist! God is the infinite, perfect Spirit in whom, from whom, all things exist, have their source, support for life, and ultimately their end. GOD is an eternal, omnipotent, independent, self-sufficient, necessary Being who has self-existent life, wisdom, goodness, excellence in ultimate perfection. GOD is absolute, eternal, and immutable in power, holiness, love, justice and omniscience.
•A great second truth is Jesus Christ– the brightness of GOD’S glory, the express image of GOD. Jesus is King of kings, Lord of lords, the Savior, the Head of his church, the Prince of Peace, the Way, the Truth, the Life, and the Light of the world.
•A great third truth is the Holy Spirit of God – the One who gave the written word of God, the Bible, from the mind of God the Father. The Holy Spirit is the one who made the Word of God totally accurate, inerrant and understandable to anyone who searches for the truth honestly.
